It All Started When...

I realized that my love for creating could be more than just a hobby. I’ve always been drawn to art and design—so much so that I considered majoring in graphic design before choosing a path in elementary education. While I adore working with kids, I’ve never lost that spark for designing playful, personalized things that bring joy. Janie and Max grew from my passion for making fun, affordable designs that help families celebrate life’s sweetest moments—without breaking the bank.

The Story Behind the Name

Janie and Max is named after my two grandmothers—Granma J (Janie) and Grandma M (Maxine). They were both creative, strong-willed women who could make something beautiful out of anything. Whether they were decorating for a celebration or cooking an unforgettable meal, they poured love, care, and resourcefulness into everything they did. They taught me the value of showing up, working hard, and creating joy for others. This shop is my way of honoring their legacy—with every design, I hope to carry a little bit of their spirit forward.
